Clarendon Condominiums

Intrduction to the Clarendon Condo Market

It is always somewhat of a seller’s market for Clarendon Condominiums, but nobody looses.  The Clarendon community remains the hottest market in Arlington VA real estate, central to everything with a contagious vibe.

Clarendon is centered between the Ballston neighborhood and Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington.  There are two main thoroughfares, Clarendon Boulevard running east and Wilson Boulevard running west.  The Clarendon Metro Station opened in the 1980s, turning the area into a eclectic, trendy hangout with small restaurants and shops.

While Clarendon is a hip place to hang out, it is also a great place to live.  Clarendon has single-family homes, arts and crafts style townhouses and a great selection of Clarendon condominiums.  Many Clarendon condominiums are conveniently mixed within restaurants, small shops and major retails chains such as Barnes & Noble and the Pottery Barn

What are you looking for in your Clarendon condominium?  Would you like exposed duct work and a lofty feel… a roof top pool where you are likely to see half a dozen of your friends on any given weekend this summer… luxurious features and amenities… or just the convenience of being able to walk out your door and be within a block of Whole Foods Market, Starbucks and some of the best restaurants in town.  There is a home for just about anyone shopping for condos in Clarendon, but one commonality is that they attract the fun people.

Clarendon 1021 has been the place to live for the last several years.  The rooftop pool and deck are summertime staples.  The individual condominium units have a modern feel.  Some homes come with balconies that overlook the courtyard or city.  The building boasts a 24-hour concierge service and one of the best locations in town.  Clarendon 1021 is only steps from Clarendon Metro station.  Clarendon 1021 Condominium was built in 2005.  The address is 1021 Garfield Street.

Station Square is made up of three separate buildings and addresses that all share common amenities.  Like Clarendon 1021, Station Square has some of the least expensive condo fees in town.  Station Square sits next door to Clarendon 1021 and spans all the way to Clarendon Boulevard.  Some of the units have a lofty feel with exposed ductwork and edgy features.  Station Square Condominium was built in 2007.

The other Clarendon condominium I would like to feature is The Phoenix at Clarendon Metro.  The Phoenix is the newest addition to the group.  I have written a blog about The Phoenix that I highly recommend reading if you are thinking about buying new or/and thinking about buying a condominium in Clarendon.  This building is slightly smaller than Station Square or Clarendon 1021 with less than 200 homes.  It has arguably the nicest amenities in Clarendon with a state of the art screening room, modern fitness center, rooftop pool and deck, party room and concierge.  You name it, they have… and they have done it well.  The individual home features are impeccable for this price range.  The Phoenix at Clarendon was built behind the old post office.  It runs perpendicular to Clarendon Grill and Mr. Days.

There are some other great condos in Clarendon such as The Charleston and The Hartford.  I would love to talk to you more about what you are looking for and the great condo options Clarendon and Arlington VA have available.

A neighborhood association called the Clarendon Alliance addresses community concerns and markets the area with regular events such as a farmers market and the fall Clarendon Day festival.  According to Joel Dabu of the Clarendon Alliance, living in Clarendon is “like being in the city, but it's just more comfortable here.”
