Arlington VA Real Estate has become an anomaly in Northern Virginia. When the real estate market was in full bloom in 2003 and 2004 people would literally camp out to be the first to be first in line to buyer new Arlington VA real estate. Despite its density, Arlington VA real estate has maintained a healthy balance of urban mixed with the conveniences of the suburbs. Arlington attracts millions of visitors every year. It is a key destination for its close proximity to our nation's capital and for its very own famous landmarks such as the Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Roosevelt Island, Arlington House and the Pentagon.
Arlington VA is a rapidly growing city with a dynamic economy. The federal government is the single largest employer in the County. Arlington's top 5 private employers are Virginia Hospital Center, Verizon, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Marriott International, and SAIC. As of January 1, 2007, it had an estimated 200,300 jobs and its unemployment rate was 1.9%. Did you know, Arlington VA has more private office space than downtown Boston, Dallas, Denver, or Los Angeles? As jobs continue to grow so does the desirability of Arlington VA real estate and the demand for new construction.
When speaking with an Arlington local they will often break down Arlington real estate into neighborhoods such as Rosslyn, Ballston, Clarendon, and Crystal City. The most sought after Arlington VA real estate is directly along the Metro lines, particularly the Rosslyn to Ballston corridor of the Orange line metrorail.
